Description

CENTRAL ASIA: ca. 6th-8th century, AV burial token (1.15g), uniface burial piece derived from a gold solidus of the late Roman emperor Leo I (457-474), VF. Gold burial pieces were normally placed on the corpse during the burial, or attached to its shroud or other ornaments.
